“You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.” ― Jack London
Don’t pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one. – Bruce Lee
This quote always inspired me to do better, to have the strength to endure and thrive in difficult situations. It makes me not ask for mercy, but to challenge the world, and possibly change it. I hope this quote inspires you guys as well. Any thoughts?
“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” – Maria Robinson
IT doesn’t matter how we start in this life, it does not matter what happened in our past, as long as we are willing to make a difference in our lives we can create a new story for ourselves. It is hard work but it is something everyone can do: break free from the vicious cycles that oppress us.
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It mill make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for the day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you… We are in charge of our attitudes.” – Charles R. Swindoll
I think this is a great quote. It has helped me a lot throughout my life, reminding me to have a positive attitude, to pursue my dreams and not be deterred by the challenges incurred. It can be a challenge, however, and sometimes I get flustered and overwhelmed.
How doe this quote make you feel? Does anyone agree with it? Any anecdotal information?
If you love a flower, don’t pick it up. Because if you pick it up, it dies and it ceases to be what you love. So if you love a flower, let it be. Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation. – Osho
This is such a true quote. I feel that in some relationship one member tries to pull at the other in an attempt feel like they have them, when love is really just about being with a person and appreciating who they are and the time spent together. I know I have tried to pull at someone to make them into something that they aren’t, it wasn’t intentional, but I realize it now that it was the wrong thing to do. And not only did I hurt her, I destroyed the relationship.
“The day will be what you make it, so rise like the sun and burn.” – William C. Hannan
My current girlfriend showed me this quote and I really love it. It makes me want to pursue my dreams with a fiery passion.
Every day I think of her; I think about how I don’t really deserve her, but I am so in love with her I want to do everything I can to show her my love. She has treated me so well, and she has been so nice to me–I just want to give her everything I have. However, I have nothing but time, and sometimes I feel like pushing her away so she can find someone better. But in my heart of hearts, I want to fight for her so desperately, and I am fighting for her ceaselessly.
See, the thing is, like a flame, we will burn out and die. Knowing this, I want to give her every moment I have; I want to give and share with her all the time in my life. I have to fight and struggle and endure to make every moment with her a special moment so that when I burn out like a matchstick I know I lived my life and I wouldn’t be living it without her.
I’ve never felt this way about anyone. My life has mostly been a wayward struggle.
